Second call for submission of project proposals
The second call for project proposals is open from 12 April to 30 June 2017.
The aim of the Interreg V-A Italy-Austria program is to strengthen cross-border cooperation in the Italian-Austrian border region, thereby contributing to the achievement of the Europe 2020 strategy. In view of the positive results of the first call, the second call supports, in particular, initiatives to promote two thematic objectives: natural and cultural heritage and institutional competence. The project proposals must have a concrete and sustainable cross-border approach and corrispond within the priority axes 2 or 3 of the cooperation program. Project proposals corrisponding with the priority axis 1 are not eligible for funding in this call.
The funding available under the second call for project proposals amounts to a total of 21,000,000 Euro of ERDF funding, which is composed as follows:
- priority axes 2: 10,000,000 Euro
- priority axes 3: 11,000,000 Euro
How are the submitted project ideas evaluated?
At the end of the call, the Joint Secretariat evaluates all submitted project proposals. It is supported by the Regional Coordination Units and, where appropriate, by external experts. The management authority ensures the independence of all evaluators.
The assessment process, which takes about 25 weeks, involves two steps:
- Formal evaliuation: Evaluation whether the applications meet the minimum requirements of the EU regulations, the program requirements and the call requirements. In the case of a negative assessment in this phase, the project is rejected as inadmissible and will not be subjected to any further evaluation.
- Strategic-Operational Assessment: Is used to draw up a ranking of the submitted project applications and is based on qualitative assessment criteria. The focus is on strategic, operational and contentual aspects. At the same time, the Regional Coordination Units review the project partners' requests in the respective regional areas of responsibility to check the coherence and synergy of the projects with regional and national policies. On the basis of the results of the formal evaliuation and the strategic and operational evaluation, the Joint Secretariat shall draw up a draft ranking on the submitted project applications an submitt it to the Steering Committee, which checks the drafting of the ranking and approves or rejects the projects.
